Personality- As a pup Shadow’s sweet and kind-hearted, he is a little shy. He is glad to make new friends. He’s a sensitive little guy and the smallest mean word will hurt him. He’s friendly, honest and trust-worthy. He's open-minded and optimistic. He's loyal to his friends and family.
As Shadow ages fame gets to his head and he becomes arrogant and stuck-up. He abandons his family and old friends for new friends and fame. He’s cocky and focused solely on himself.
Later Shadow returns to his old self, the sweet, kind-hearted dog he always was deep inside. He grows to be quite charming and romantic fellow, a true gentleman.
History- Shadow was born and raised in Nome by his parents and alongside his siblings. He loved being with his family, but soon it was time for him to leave. Since he was a purebred husky he was put up for sale along with his other siblings. Steele’s owner was looking for huskies to fill the spaces in his team. He wanted to create a team of sled dogs made purely of huskies from a good racing heritage. Steele’s sons Kayne and Jack were to be lead dogs to the team, followed by Steele’s daughters Danny and Dawne and two other huskies he had adopted, but the team couldn’t be complete with only six dogs. This brought Steele’s owner to Shadow’s home. He set his eyes on Shadow immediately, and so paid good money for the pup and took him home. Shadow, as soon as he walked through the door, started training to be on the new champion sled team of Nome. Shadow met the other pups, but they didn’t like him much, though he was purebred he was sweet and kind-hearted while they were all arrogant and stuck-up. So Shadow spent all of his days training, or sulking in a corner by himself. He missed his family, he missed home, he hated it there. Then he heart a small, sweet voice. “Um…hi..” it said. Shadow turned to met the source of the voice. It was a cute little silvery coloured pup. Shadow returned the “hello” and the two got talking. Shadow found out that her name was Dawne and she was one of Steele’s daughters, but she was different she was shy, timid and sweet. She had no friends, and neither did Shadow, so naturally the two bonded and became friends. Before, Shadow would give anything to leave, but now you couldn’t pay him enough to leave.
A year later the team was ready to run. They lost a few races, but soon got the hang of it and won almost every race they entered. They were superstars in Nome, famous. Shadow was now known by all, he had friends, he had girls falling at his feet, he had everything. This new fame got to his head and he became arrogant and stuck-up, just like the others. He forgot his old friend, traded her in for a posse of new dogs and he met a girl, Lola. Before, he would never have dreamed of being with her, she was way out of his league, but now that he was famous he thought he could have anyone. The two got together and what they had Shadow thought was love. Soon Shadow was a father to two pups, Hike and Queen.
Another year passed and the team was still on a winning streak. Shadow was still his self-centered self. Dawne finally confronted him about it. Telling him he had changed, that he wasn’t the sweet pup she remembered, she missed that pup and she hated what he had become. She tried to convince him he was living a lie but Shadow wouldn’t believe it. He left in a huff. As the days passed Dawne’s words rung in his head and he began to realize she was right. He had become everything he had hated. He broke things off with Lola, left his friends and went to fix things with Dawne. She forgave him, happy to have the old Shadow back. They decided together they would run away, leave the team, leave the town, and start a new life together elsewhere. They moved to Anchorage, finding a new sled team there to join who gladly accepted them.
