Troy was born on the plains, and was always looking towards the mountains. His mom and dad were worried about him always trying to go towards them. But he would end up going there anyway.
When he was a yearling he left his parents and headed towards the mountians. He was more suited for cold climates than warm ones. And he wasn't expecting to find any herds or other horses there, but he was okay with that, he wanted to be alone and be peaceful.
He has been in the mountains ever since.
