History:
Lyon never got to know his father. Before his birth, his father was involved in an attack between a couple rogues. In an attempt to save his mate, his father chased Lyon's mother away. Shortly after being chased off, she went into labor and birthed their son and Lyon's sister. Lyon's father suffered the consequences and died from his wounds, presumably.

Lyon and his sister grew up hearing the many stories about their father, how great and honorable he was. They were constantly reminded of how proud he would've been of them, had he still been alive. 

Months later, he had befriended a lioness name Kat, a runaway from her family. She didn't go into details about why she left right away, but Lyon didn't push her to tell. Kat and Lyon became close friend's right away. The duo even started dating once in their teen years. They were eventually wedded to each other after reaching adulthood, but held off on having cubs for awhile. Kat feared she wouldn't be able to take care of such a small being, but Lyon's mother had reassured her otherwise.

Finally, after being wedded for awhile, Kat gave birth to their son, Raja. Raja, however, was sickly and weak, unable to even nurse at times. Lyon's sister had remembered Kat's pride and recommended that they go there for help. Although Kat was hesitent at first, Lyon coaxed her into the idea, and so they went. The Black Moor Regiment was a generally small pride, but very close with all of the members. They welcomed the small family with open arms, Kopa, the king, with even bigger arms when the mention of Raja came into the picture. 

Kopa was a decent king, he wasn't very experienced in the beginning, but gradually got better. Age had been very kind with him, he didn't look a day older than the last time Kat had seen him, except for a few stray gray hairs in his mane. Kopa saw potential in Lyon, potential to be the new king. The king was still old and aging, and if Lyon was anything like he was, he'd be a great king, maybe even better than he was.

Training started imediately. Kopa was determined to teach Lyon all he knew, even if it took up to his last breath. Lyon was not so easily convinced, however. His family was never of royal descent, even if they were, Lyon wouldn't have ever dreamed of being king. However, after months of training and the recovery of Raja, Lyon fell nicely into the postion. He was crowned king not long after his training, and Kopa finally retired.
