After much consideration, and encouragement from other members, I have decided to revive the Animation Source Choice Awards once more and see how it goes.

Not to be confused with the Animation Source Awards, which honor members of Animation Source and has been discontinued permanently, the ASCAs honor the best in animation from the previous year. The first year Animation Source hosted the awards, 157 people voted, and the winner of Best Picture was Rio. According to BoxOfficeMojo's release schedule, Pixar films The Good Dinosaur and Finding Dory have had their release dates pushed back.

The Good Dinosaur, set to be Pixar's next major release, was due out next June, but now it has been pushed back to November 25, 2015. There may be several reasons for this, but the largest one might be the fact that Jurassic World (aka Jurassic Park 4) is being released during Summer 2015, and perhaps Pixar wants to release a dinosaur film immediately after, while audiences are still on a dinosaur high. It was long overdue, but a few things are going to change on Animation Source soon.

As you may or may not know, the french side of the site has been running quite smoothly over the past years, but the same can't be said for the english side.
Which is why, the french moderators suggested to help and improve the english side, and they've recently dedicated a lot of time into it!

And here's their first task : "changing" the site rules! Actually changing is a big word, it's more : giving precise details and filling the blanks, the areas which were a blur for everyone.

I know I'm a bit late on this (by 12 hours), but the teaser trailer for How to Train Your Dragon 2 has officially been released! The trailer reveals little to nothing on the plot, but gives us a first look at a significantly-aged Hiccup, and some GORGEOUS shots of Toothless in flight.

Sourcecast has an interview lined up for voice actor Robbie Rist. Most of you might know him as the voice of Star in "Balto", but he also has a lot of other credits, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Naruto, and Doc McStuffins.

On April 18, 1983, 30 years ago today, The Disney Channel began broadcasting all over the world. In the last 30 years, it has aired numerous Disney movies, television series, and everything in-between. If you were born anytime after that date, chances are you watched Disney Channel a LOT growing up. Every year since 2007, the Animation Source Awards have taken place to honor members of Animation Source. However, the popularity the awards once had is definitely not quite there anymore; last year, only 10 people total voted in the final tally, and most of those went to one category instead of the potential dozens offered. Yes, folks, Pixar's rolling out another sequel. This time to 2003's Finding Nemo. The sequel? Finding Dory.

Not much is known about this sequel, except that portions will take part around the beaches of California. Most of the cast from the first film will be returning except for Alexander Gould, whose voice of Nemo is too adult-like now to allow him to reprise.

Yesturday, there was a totally unexpected news that shocked all the video game industry...

After nearly 25 years, the Ducktales NES video game is getting a remake!!! Coming this summer, on Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U!

 

Take a look at any of the news sites comments, to be honest I've never seen gamers being so unanimely positive about a game announcement! Uncle $crooge will make millions again!!!

It's been YEARS since Disney has pushed out new short films, particularly ones starring Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Pluto - you know, the old gang. This was practically ALL Disney made back in the 50s and 60s, but very few have come out since. In fact, the last short they produced was "How to Hook Up Your Home Theater", which saw its premiere in 2007 - 6 years ago.

Happy New Year, everyone! We've made it through a year of apocolypses, zombies, and gigantic mailboxes, and now it's time to usher in 2013. What better way to kick off a new year on Animation Source, than with the 2nd Annual Animation Source Choice Awards!

Last year's ASCAs were a huge success. Over 150 people voted in the event! The largest winner was Rio, which took home 11 awards, including Best Picture. This year, we have quite the list of nominees eligible for each award; over 20 animated films were released in 2012!
